Uomo Felice Portofino is an eau de toilette in Faberlic's men's range. Its notes are listed in the catalogue; this page covers travelling with fragrance, which is where bottles most often get broken, confiscated or ruined.
Do not travel with the full bottle
Three reasons: glass breaks in luggage, cabin liquid limits apply, and a hold bag goes through significant temperature swings that degrade fragrance.
Decant instead. A small atomiser holds enough for a week and costs very little. Fill it by spraying directly into it if it has a wide neck, or use a funnel.
Label it. An unlabelled atomiser is indistinguishable from every other unlabelled atomiser after two trips.
Cabin rules
Liquids in hand luggage are capped — typically 100 ml per container in a single transparent bag. A 5 or 10 ml decant is comfortably inside that, and unlike a full bottle it will not be taken off you.
Temperature is the real enemy
A hold bag can go from freezing at altitude to very hot on the tarmac. Repeated swings degrade fragrance faster than steady warmth.
If you must pack the full bottle, put it in the middle of your clothes, in a sealed bag, and expect it to be less good than when it left.
Never leave fragrance in a car in summer.
While you are away
Hotel bathrooms are the worst storage in any building — hot, humid, and with a large swing every time someone showers. Keep it in the wardrobe.
Application when travelling
Two or three sprays, to moisturised skin. Air travel dehydrates skin considerably, which is one reason fragrance seems to fade faster on a trip — the fix is moisturiser, not more spraying.
Testing
On skin, thirty minutes minimum. The full note structure is in the Faberlic catalogue.
At home
Cupboard, in the box, away from light and heat. Kept properly, an eau de toilette lasts years; kept on a bathroom shelf, a light fragrance can turn within one.
