Kairos is an eau de toilette in Faberlic's men's range. Its note structure is published in the catalogue; this page covers longevity, which is the most common complaint about any eau de toilette.
What the concentration tells you
Fragrance concentrations run roughly:
- Eau de cologne — lightest, shortest
- Eau de toilette — light, several hours, closer to the skin
- Eau de parfum — denser, longer, projects further
- Parfum — the most concentrated
An eau de toilette lasting a few hours is behaving normally, not failing. If you want all-day wear from one application, the concentration is the variable to change.
Why it fades faster on some people
Three reasons, and two are fixable:
Dry skin. The largest factor by far. Scent molecules need oil to cling to. Applying to moisturised skin can double how long a fragrance lasts — if fragrance vanishes on you, start here.
Rubbing the wrists together. The friction and heat accelerate the entire development.
Specific anosmia. A meaningful proportion of people cannot smell certain musk molecules, which sit in the base of most fragrances. If yours seems to disappear but others say they can smell it, that may be why — and no amount of product solves it.
Extending it
- Unscented moisturiser first, on the areas you spray
- Apply straight after a shower, to warm slightly damp skin
- Pulse points, where warmth releases it steadily
- A little on clothing, which holds fragrance far longer than skin
- Carry a small decant and reapply in the afternoon — normal practice with an eau de toilette rather than a workaround
What does not work
Spraying more at the start. Beyond two or three sprays you increase projection, not duration — so you smell stronger to everyone else for the same number of hours.
Testing and storage
Test on skin, thirty minutes minimum. Store cool and dark, in the box.
