Beauty Cafe Delice is a parfum in Faberlic's women's range. Its scent family and note structure are described in the catalogue by the people who composed it; this page covers what the concentration means in practice.

Parfum is the strongest concentration

The scale runs roughly: eau de cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, parfum. Each step up means more aromatic material and less alcohol.

For a parfum, that produces three practical differences:

It lasts considerably longer. Often the whole day from one application.

It sits closer to the skin. Counter-intuitively, the highest concentrations often project less than an eau de parfum — they are dense rather than diffusive, noticed by people near you rather than across a room.

It develops more slowly, so the drydown takes longer to arrive.

Which changes how you apply it

Far less than you think. One touch or one spray at a pulse point. A parfum applied at eau de toilette quantities is a great deal of fragrance.

Many parfums come with a dab applicator rather than an atomiser for exactly this reason — the format enforces restraint.

To pulse points only. Wrists, the base of the throat, behind the ears. Warmth releases it steadily through the day.

Never rub. The friction breaks the opening and accelerates the development.

Where it suits

Evening, cold weather, and occasions. Parfum is a deliberate choice rather than an everyday one, and in a small office it is usually too much regardless of how well it is applied.

Value

A parfum costs more per millilitre and less per wearing, since you use a fraction of the amount and reapply rarely. A small bottle lasts a surprisingly long time.

Testing

On skin, and give it longer than usual — parfums develop slowly, and thirty minutes may not be enough to reach the character you will actually wear.

The full note structure is in the Faberlic catalogue.

Storage

Cool, dark, in the box. Higher concentrations keep better than light ones, but heat and light degrade any fragrance.
