What a reconstruction shampoo is for

- Has been coloured or bleached, particularly repeatedly
- Is heat-styled often

- Looks dull however recently it was washed
- Is long enough that the ends are several years old
Hair that is fine, healthy and gets greasy quickly generally does better with a volume or everyday formula - repair shampoos can leave it feeling weighed down.
Using it properly
- Wash the scalp, not the lengths. Lather at the roots and let the run-off clean the ends as you rinse
- Two short washes clean better than one long one if hair is heavily styled
- Rinse thoroughly - residue is the most common cause of hair that feels heavy after washing
- Follow with the matching balm or mask on the lengths and ends only
- Use the mask once or twice a week, not every wash
Honest expectations
A shampoo improves the condition and behaviour of the hair you have. It does not repair split ends, which only cutting removes, and it does not undo bleach damage at a structural level. Realistically, expect easier combing, less breakage during styling and a better surface within a few weeks - and keep a regular trim schedule, because no product substitutes for one.
