Nataliya told this story herself, on her open Telegram channel followed by almost eight thousand people. She did not tell it to look good — quite the opposite. She was annoyed by how many stories go "I joined and everything worked out straight away."

How it actually started

"My business was so simple and easy, I joined and hop-hop-hop, I quickly became a Director" — that, in her words, is the lie beginners fall for. Nothing about her own start was easy.

The starting point: a mother on maternity leave, a two-year-old in her arms, three months before returning to an employed job that made her skin crawl. There was no money at all. Her account contains a detail nobody would invent: battered crab sticks not as a snack but as a main course. Rice that was a side dish one day and soup the next, because there was nothing else.

The first disappointment

Nobody followed her. Not a sister, not a friend, not a single relative — the very people who, in other people's stories, "became my first directors." She was laughed at. More than that: they would not even order from her. And when, years later, they saw her results, they did join Faberlic — but not through her.

That is perhaps the most useful thing to take from her experience: a lack of support from those closest to you at the start is not a verdict, and not a sign that you have chosen wrong.

What she actually did

No internet, no automation, no ready-made scripts — none of that existed in her start. There was groundwork:

  • street surveys, with a folder, catalogues and a bunch of balloons;
  • flyers and classified ads;
  • referrals and phone calls;
  • promo stands at every city festival;
  • flashmobs that made passers-by give them a wide berth.

Her working day ran from eight in the morning to ten at night, always with her son. She held meetings in the courtyard of a residential block — the same one where people gathered to drink in the evenings. Her child sat nearby in the sandpit. Lunch was apples from a tree growing in that same courtyard.

And when the choice came down to buying food or topping up her phone so she could ring people and invite them to meetings, she topped up the phone.

At that pace she opened the Director qualification in four catalogues.

What she actually wanted at the start

This is the sobering part. She had no big goals whatsoever. She needed $300–400 a month so she would not have to take a job. Speak on stage? "Are you joking, no, I don't want to put myself out there." Earn a lot? "Money is evil, I'm not ready for that." Be a top leader? "You're laughing at me."

Today she is a top leader and mentor, attends strategy sessions with the company's management, celebrates her birthday with her team in Vietnam and walks onto that very stage. The gap between the two photographs — "the beginning" and "now" — is enormous. But in her own words, none of the present would exist if, back then, she had looked for excuses instead of saying "I have to."

What this means for you

Nataliya is honest about it: network marketing is work. Work that happens to be well rewarded. And she adds a line she repeats to her own team — when it is hard, when things go wrong, hold on: that is exactly where your success story begins.
