This is the category where honest information matters most, because people spend months on products while a treatable cause goes unaddressed.
First: is it loss or breakage?
These look similar and need completely different responses.
Breakage — you find short broken fragments in your brush and around the house. The hair snapped mid-length. Caused by heat, bleaching, rough handling. Products genuinely help here.
Loss — the hairs in your brush are full-length with a small pale bulb at one end. They came out at the root. Products do not address the cause.
Look at what is actually in your brush. It is the most useful thirty seconds you can spend on this.
What is normal
50 to 100 hairs a day, which looks alarming in a shower drain. Autumn is heavier for many people.
Not normal: a widening parting, a visibly thinner ponytail, clumps, patches, or a sustained increase over weeks.
What causes genuine hair loss
Almost always internal:
- Iron deficiency — common, easily tested, treatable
- Thyroid conditions
- Hormonal change — postpartum, menopause, stopping contraception
- Stress or illness, typically showing two to three months after the event
- Rapid weight loss or restrictive dieting
- Some medications
- Androgenetic (hereditary) loss, which is progressive and far easier to slow than reverse
None of these are shampoo problems.
What this shampoo can honestly do
- Keep the scalp clean and comfortable, which supports the hair you have
- Reduce breakage, so hair does not snap and appear to be falling
- Make hair look fuller
That is worth having. It is not treatment.
The step that matters more
See a doctor and get blood tests — iron, ferritin, thyroid, vitamin D. This covers most of the treatable causes, and early treatment works considerably better than late.
The most common mistake is spending six months on shampoos first.
Using it
Lather at the scalp, massage with fingertips for about a minute, rinse thoroughly. Conditioner on the lengths only.
