Pour Toujours is an eau de parfum in Faberlic's women's range. Its notes are set out in the catalogue; this page is about occasion wear.

Occasions change the calculation

An eau de parfum suits evenings and events well: the density that would be too much in an office is appropriate where fragrance is part of dressing up.

But three contexts within "occasions" call for restraint:

Restaurants. Fragrance competes with food, and the people around you did not choose it. Apply lightly, and to skin rather than clothing.

Weddings, theatres, anywhere seated close together for hours. Enclosed, warm, and unventilated — the conditions that amplify fragrance most.

Anywhere with someone who reacts. Asthma and migraine are genuinely triggered by heavy fragrance, and this is not a matter of preference.

Timing the application

Twenty to thirty minutes before you leave, not as you go out of the door.

Two reasons: the sharpest part of the opening has passed by the time you arrive, and you can judge whether you have applied too much while there is still time to do something about it.

How much

Two or three sprays for an eau de parfum. Three is already generous in an enclosed space.

Remember that your nose stops registering your own fragrance within about ten minutes — so the amount must be decided at the point of application, not reassessed later when you can no longer smell it.

Where

Pulse points: the base of the throat, behind the ears, inside the wrists. Warmth releases it steadily.

A little on a scarf or wrap works well for an evening — fabric holds fragrance longer than skin, which suits a long event. Test on an inconspicuous area first, since some fabrics stain.

Making it last the evening

Apply to moisturised skin. An unscented lotion first, on the areas you spray, is the most effective single step for longevity and costs nothing.

Testing

On skin, thirty minutes minimum, one at a time.

Storage

Cool, dark, in the box, away from the bathroom.
