Individual lashes do something a strip cannot: selective volume. You decide exactly where the density goes, so the result reads as your own lashes on a good day rather than as an accessory. The trade-off is time — ten minutes instead of two.

Three placement maps

How many clusters you need depends entirely on the effect:

  • Open and awake (5–6 per eye). Short and medium clusters spaced evenly along the lash line, slightly denser toward the centre. Nobody asks whether you are wearing lashes.
  • Elongated (4–5 per eye). Outer third only, lengths increasing toward the outer corner. Stretches the eye horizontally, which suits round shapes.
  • Full volume (10–12 per eye). Medium and long alternating along the whole line, set close together.

Clusters come in different lengths and hair counts. Keep the shortest for daytime and save the long ones for evenings, when the contrast with your own lashes is less obvious.

Application

  1. Curl your own lashes and apply mascara first. Clusters attach to a prepared row.
  2. Put a drop of glue on a piece of foil or the back of your hand. Dipping straight from the tube gives you no control over the amount.
  3. Grip the cluster with tweezers at the very tip of its knot and dip the base into the glue — a millimetre, no more.
  4. Wait 15 to 20 seconds until the glue goes tacky.
  5. Attach the cluster to your own lashes near their base, not to the lid skin. This is why clusters feel like nothing and why they do not lift when your skin moves.
  6. Start at the outer corner and work inward, leaving two or three of your own lashes between clusters.
  7. Let them set for a minute, then gently pinch the whole row at the roots so everything blends.

Skip mascara over the top. It clumps the clusters together and shortens how long they last.

Removal without damage

Soak a cotton pad in a bi-phase or micellar remover and hold it against the closed eye for forty to sixty seconds so the glue softens. Then lift the clusters off one at a time with tweezers, working under the base.

Never pull the row off with your fingers — your own lashes come away with it. If a cluster resists, do not increase the force; reapply the remover and wait again.

Wearing clusters more than a day or two at a stretch is not worth it, and all glue residue needs washing off properly at the end.
