Dry skin produces less oil than it needs, so the barrier that holds water in is weaker. Within any skincare range — including this one — that makes texture the deciding factor, ahead of any other consideration.

What to look for in the range

Richer textures, particularly for night. Dry skin tolerates and benefits from heavier creams that would congest oily skin.

Non-foaming cleansers. Cleansing milks and cream cleansers rather than gels. This is where most dry-skin damage happens, and the cleanser matters more than the moisturiser.

A day-and-night pair if you want to be thorough — lighter under sunscreen in the morning, richer overnight.

Textures and current products are listed in the Faberlic catalogue; that is the reliable source, since the range rotates roughly every three weeks.

First, check it is actually dry skin

This is worth ruling out, because the answers differ:

  • Dry — lacks oil. Flaky, rough, tight all day. A permanent trait
  • Dehydrated — lacks water. Dull, tight after cleansing, fine lines more visible. Temporary, and any skin type can have it

Dry skin needs richer products. Dehydrated skin needs hydration and gentler cleansing. You can be both — common in winter.

If your skin is shiny and tight, you are not dry.

What matters more than which cream

  • Apply to damp skin, within a minute of cleansing
  • Stop using foaming cleansers
  • Lukewarm water, never hot
  • Reduce exfoliation to once a week at most, and skip it entirely while flaking
  • A humidifier if you have central heating — often more effective than any product change

Assessing it

One product, three to four weeks, nothing else changed. Judge on comfort and whether the tightness eases.

When it is not cosmetic

Persistent flaking with redness and itching, patches that crack or weep — these are dermatological. Eczema in particular looks like dryness and does not respond to moisturiser alone. A doctor rather than a fourth cream.
