The honest answer has two halves, and most write-ups only give one.
What is genuinely distinctive
The Aquaftem complex is Faberlic's own technology, developed by the company and used across the oxygen series since the late 1990s. It is what the brand is identified with, and no other manufacturer uses it.
What the complex is and what the company claims for it are set out in Faberlic's own materials, and that is where those claims should be read — the Faberlic catalogue carries the technical description. This page does not restate it, because a second-hand version of a technical claim is worth less than the original and risks distorting it.
What is the same as any other skincare
This is the half usually left out, and it is not a criticism:
- The base formulation of any moisturiser does the same fundamental job — supply water, slow its loss, smooth the surface
- Texture matters more than the headline ingredient for whether a cream suits you
- Skin type determines the outcome more than the brand does
- No cream replaces sun protection, which does more for how skin ages than any moisturiser
- Nothing treats a skin condition. Acne, rosacea and eczema are medical matters
Any well-formulated cream matched to your skin type improves comfort and texture within a few weeks. That is true of the oxygen line and of a great many other products.
How to judge the difference yourself
The only test that means anything:
- Use one product from the range for three to four weeks
- Change nothing else
- Compare with how your skin was before
If it suits you better than what you used previously, that is a real result. If it does not, that is also a real result, and neither says anything about the technology in the abstract.
What to be sceptical of
Anyone — including a consultant — who tells you the line does something no other skincare can, without pointing you at the manufacturer's own documentation. Enthusiasm is not evidence, and the company's published materials are the appropriate source for its claims.
The fair summary
A large, competently formulated skincare range built around a proprietary technology the brand has invested in for over two decades, sold at a discount to consultants. Whether it suits your skin is an individual question with an individual answer.
